Important announcement: B2 Closure between Eschenlohe and Oberau from 8 October 2019
Please mind that a section of the B2 highway between Eschenlohe and Oberau will be closed for up to 10 weeks from 8 October 2019 due to rock security works. Train services between Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen will supposedly not be affected. At the first stage, rock clearing will require a full closure for 5 days from Tuesday, 8 October to Saturday, 12 October. After the rocks have been cleared, the constuction of a safety fence is possible with one-way traffic regulation with traffic lights.
For the guests in our region arriving by car this means an opportunity to drive one of the scenic highways in the Bavarian Alps. The traffic will most likely be redirected from the Autobahn A95 already in Großweil. The possible detours are then the German Alpine Road (Deutsche Alpenstraße over Murnau - Saulgrub - Ettal - Oberau) or the famous 'Kesselberg' (over Kochel - Walchensee - Wallgau - Krün - Garmisch-Partenkirchen). Plan a cosy break in a Bavarian tavern or a brief visit to one of the alpine lakes - the holiday starts sooner that way!
